From CNSNews: Investigating the Investigators
Attorney General Barr has taken steps to start an inquiry into the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation.
Attorney General Bill Barr has ordered a federal prosecutor to look into the origins of the FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation, and Barr told Fox News on Thursday he did it because he wasn’t getting adequate answers to his questions and because no one had really looked into it:
“We should be worried about whether government officials abused their power,” Barr said.
Barr, who expected clear answers when he started his position as Attorney General in February, has stated that is not the case.
The lack of clarity around the whole situation, he says, is cause for a deeper look into the investigation itself – and the one’s responsible for handling it.
“Well, because I think people have to find out what the government was doing during that period. If we’re worried about foreign influence, for the very same reason we should be worried about whether government officials abused their power and put their thumb on the scale. And so I’m not saying that happened, but I’m saying we have to look at that.”
Barr has also promised that the public will get access to his report once it is concluded.
